In collaboration with John Mayer, the PRS Silver Sky is born out of a meticulous two-year design process and offers a blend of vintage charm and modern innovation- a testament to the fusion of the best elements from 1963 and 1964 instruments.
The Silver Sky features a body cut from alder into an “S-Style” shape, a classic silhouette that has stood the test of time. A maple neck is attached with four-bolt construction, and boasts a PRS 635JM neck shape, with a maple fingerboard in classic fashion. Researched and tested by Mayer himself, this neck and fingerboard deliver exceptional playability, and the fingerboard offers a 7.25” radius, 22 frets with PRS’s iconic Small Bird inlays, and a total scale length of 25.5″.
The 635JM single-coil pickups found in the Silver Sky are its sonic identity. These pickups are designed to offer round and full tones and deliver offer a musical high end that’s never harsh and a 5-way blade pickup switch, paired with one volume and two tone controls, provides a versatile range of tones. The Silver Sky also features a PRS Steel Tremolo, with Gen III knife-edge screws, offering pitch modulation with precision.
Silver Sky guitars come with a bone nut, vintage-style locking tuning machines, a PRS Double-Acting truss rod for easy adjustments, and a molded metal jack plate for hassle-free cable connections. Its Midnight Rose finish adds a touch of sophistication, and is kept safe by an included gig bag.
