The body of this J-Bass is made from alder, and boasts the same classic curves and contours of the iconic 64 J-Bass body shape. With its Fender Custom Shop Relic finish, this guitar is designed to look as though it’s seen years of regular use while still playing immaculately, with every scratch and dent telling a story- albeit slightly less relic’d than its “Heavy Relic” Fender Custom Shop counterparts.
A nod to authenticity, this bass sports vintage bass nickel tuning machines, holding true to the era’s spirit. A slight departure from original design, this bass sports a ’60 J-Bass “U” neck profile, known for its comfort, and is host to a quarter sawn maple neck, offering slightly more stability than a flat sawn neck while also contributing to the bass’s familiarly comfortable playability. A rosewood fingerboard, furthered with a vintage accurate 7.25″ fingerboard radius and slightly more modern medium jumbo frets also contribute to this bass’s comfortable playability. Special block inlays offering a touch of aesthetic class to the fretboard, as well.

They’re meticulously wired by FCS, and stand as an upgrade to the ’64 J Bass base model, while capturing the essence of the original. With a nuanced, precise level of control offered by Volume/Volume/Tone controls, getting a desirable tone out of this J-Bass is as easy as playing the bass itself.
Finished in organic nitrocellulose lacquer that guarantees authentic, sought after visual aging of this instrument, the Sonic Blue hue and relic treatment of this bass give it the worn-in feel of an instrument that’s been trusted and used for decades. An upgraded matching painted headcap adds a finishing aesthetic touch, creating a visual symmetry between the top and bottom of this beautifully colored instrument. To complement this FCS beauty, it comes with a hardshell case with a plush interior.
