The PRS Silver Sky is the end result of a two-year long collaboration process between John Mayer and the Paul Reed Smith guitar designers, and it offers a combination of vintage charm and modern innovation- a testament to the fusion of the best elements from 1963 and 1964 guitars that inspired the model.
This Silver Sky offers a body cut from alder into an “S-Style” shape, a classic silhouette. A maple neck is attached to the body with four-bolt construction, and sports a PRS 635JM profile, with a rosewood fingerboard That beautifully contrasts the color its body and maple neck. Tested by Mayer himself, this neck and fingerboard deliver exceptional playability. The fingerboard offers a standard 7.25” radius, 22 frets with PRS’s iconic Small Bird inlays, and a total scale length of 25.5″.
The 635JM single-coil pickups found in the Silver Sky create its sonic identity. These pickups are designed to offer round and full tones and deliver offer a musical high end that’s never harsh, and a 5-way blade pickup switch paired with one volume and two tone controls, that provides a versatile range of tones. The Silver Sky also features a PRS Steel Tremolo, with Gen III knife-edge screws, offering pitch modulation with precision.
Silver Sky guitars come with a bone nut, vintage-style locking tuning machines, a PRS Double-Acting truss rod for easy adjustments, and a molded metal jack plate for hassle-free cable connections. This Silver Sky features a beautiful Frost finish, and is kept safe by an included gigbag.
